Later, Our Lady told her to write them down in a book-the result is The Mystical City of God, acclaimed by Popes, cardinals and theologians, a book which has inspired the laity and the clergy for over 300 years and which has gone into sixty editions in various languages. More than just the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this book also contains information about the creation of the world, the meaning of the Apocalypse, Lucifer's rebellion, the location of Hell, the hidden life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, intimate details about Our Lord's life, and many other enthralling topics. The translator, Father George J. Blatter, a Chicago priest, first read the book in German and was so impressed that he learned Spanish in order to make a proper translation into English.     The "alternate" Bible

    My Mother gave me this book years ago- I couldn't put it down. I have a particular devotion to the Blessed Virgin, so it was wonderful to read this book about Her life & so many other things She is blessed to have the knowledge of. I call this book "my Bible" since it fills in all the blanks that aren't in the Bible. Whenever I have a question, I refer to this book. I bought this copy for my best friend & her husband & recently won the full 4 book version of this on ebay. I highly recommend it.

    Visionaries versus the Bible.

    I was compelled to read this book after I read the Life of Anne Catherine Emmerich and found many discrepancies. I believe we should accept what is written in the Bible and not what was written by visionaries.
