The seller offers returns, but I didn't meet the window due to health issues. The seller communicated well and is easy to deal with. The value of the item was worth it either way.     Works better than most similar units..

    This is not really a hard drive enclosure at all, since the installed drive is not covered. It would be more accurate to call it a sled. I have several of these devices, and older ones did come with a cover, which I suspect most people did not use because it would cause heat buildup. The most important thing to know about a device like this is whether the electronics built into it allow for the full speed of the USB bus to be utilized. The answer in this case is yes. I have tested drives installed in this device using crystalmark and the data transfer rates are quite high. It also accommodates 3.5" mechanical drives as well as 2.5" mechanical and SSDs. It has a power switch. The only annoying thing is it uses a USB type B connector, which is very uncommon. The enclosure does come with its ...

    Orico, the only hard drive dock you'll ever need.

    My computer broke, so I got this HDD dock to transfer files to my new HDD. Easy to set up and it even worked for my 250 GB HDD SATA 3.0 Gb/s. Transfer speed is about 55MB/s, but keep in mind that my old HDD is super old. If you are wondering whether to get it on not, trust me and get one for yourself. Price to purchase is extremely reasonable. To sum up, I am thoroughly happy about my purchase. I will keep this item for a long time. PS: Thank you Orico for creating such a useful HDD Dock!

    Orico case for 8TB drive

    I always use the orico type cases for my drives. They dont have screws, easy to slide apart to put drives in.

    The device will read some SATA hard drives and others it will freeze up the computer on... This is a very poor design... Junk.....

    This product is junk... It will read some SATA hard drives and others it will not read.... On the hard drives that it will not read this thing will freeze the computer up, because it will not transfer or read the simplest file.... I have emailed the company and have not received a reply back... Stay far away from this product... It is a bad design, the drivers that it uses are dated 2006, and this is now 2020.... Keep in mind that it will read some hard drives fine, but others the computer will just freeze up.... They got my 20.00.... Stupid me.....

    Actually better than expected.

    I was concerned a bit about the completly open design of the drive tray. Well, I was wrong. Drives fit perfectly -- thus everything is stable. I have has good luck before with Orico products, and it looks like that will continue. For the money it;s a great value.
