Reviews
"The surprise here isn't that Scott Jurek knows a lot about nutrition-I especially love his "Holy Moly Guacamole" recipe. Or that he ran prodigious mileage to prepare for his many ultramarathon victories. More impressively, we discover that Jurek studied many of the great philosophers, and used their lessons to focus his running. In pursuing the mental side of endurance, Jurek uncovers the most important secrets any runner can learn ." -Amby Burfoot, winner of the 1968 Boston Marathon and author of The Runner's Guide to the Meaning of Life " What a triumph - both Scott Jurek's life and this one-of-a-kind book . I've seen Scott in action as he defies unimaginable challenges, and thanks to this breathtakingly personal account, I finally understand how he does it. He rebuilt himself literally from the inside out, and the result is a man-and a story-unlike any other ." -Christopher McDougall, best-selling author of Born to Run

Synopsis
The New York Times bestseller Eat and Run is "the inspiring story of an inspired man. Scott Jurek's phenomenal success as an ultra-marathoner demonstrates that meat and other animal foods are not necessary for optimum health, strength, and endurance."--Andrew Weil, #1 New York Times bestelling author of Spontaneous Happiness For nearly two decades, Scott Jurek has been a dominant force -- and darling -- in the grueling and growing sport of ultrarunning. He held the American 24-hour record and he was one of the elite runners profiled in the runaway bestseller Born to Run. In Eat and Run, Jurek opens up about his life and career as a champion athlete with a plant-based diet and inspires runners at every level. From his Midwestern childhood hunting, fishing, and cooking for his meat-and-potatoes family to his slow transition to ultrarunning and veganism, Scott's story shows the power of an iron will and blows apart the stereotypes of what athletes should eat to fuel optimal performance. Full of stories of competition as well as science and practical advice -- including his own recipes -- Eat and Run will motivate readers and expand their food horizons., "In pursuing the mental side of endurance, Jurek uncovers the most important secrets any runner can learn."--Amby Burfoot, author of The Runner's Guide to the Meaning of Life For nearly two decades, Scott Jurek has been a dominant force--and darling--in the grueling and growing sport of ultrarunning. "Jurek's story and ideas should easily manage to speak to and cheer on anyone seeking to live life as fully as possible."-- Denver Post "A shockingly honest, revealing, and inspiring memoir."-- Trail Runner, An inspiring memoir from ultrarunner Scott Jurek, star of Born to Run , covering his remarkable running career, fueled, surprisingly, by an entirely plant-based diet., The New York Times bestseller Eat and Run is "the inspiring story of an inspired man. - t***t (304)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufAAAA++++ SELLER!!!! Book was shipped very quickly and item price was also good. My only complaint is the shipping packaging. This book came loosely placed in a plastic bag so I can't tell if the damage to the dust jacket happened in shipping or it was already in that condition. But, as I already stated, the overall price was good so I shouldn't really complain. Overall, I've had positive experience with hpb-ruby so I'd still definitely recommend buying from them.
- 0***2 (613)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufInitially I was mistakingly sent the wrong book. The seller quickly responded to my message and immediately corrected the situation by providing me the correct book at no additional cost. The item arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner. Customer service and communication were excellent. Thank you so much!
- i***l (170)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufThe book pictured/described in the listing isn't the book received. I accept partial blame as I didn't notice the listing title and the book title don't match. The book received has obvious signs of water damage but is still usable. I contacted the seller and was given the option to return the book but I don't have time to deal with it so I'm going to keep it. I'm leaving positive feedback because I did receive a quick response and a resolution to the problem from the seller.
