Ken Burns productions are always well produced, combining historical education with the Human interest aspect, on a topic not easily approached. The War.     Fascinating, Engaging, Soul Searching

    Everyone needs to review America's past sacrifices to grasp the importance and value of our freedom and the comfortable life we currently live in this present day. Race & ethnicity had no boundaries, when people learn as, Americans have, we share a common goal, freedom from repression/oppression. We Americans all are willing to lay down our lives for a common good! It's been that way from our countries birth. No inside or outside influence will stop Americans from the struggling to have freedom from repression/oppression of any kind, forien or domestic regardless of our race, ethnicity, gender it's in our DNA! American's are protectors of freedom. I have had the privilege to meet one of the men spotlighted in the documentary, as well as having members of my family that served in WW-1,-2, ...

    Very well made

    Another job well done by Ken Burns!! My wife and I had grandfathers and great uncles that served in every branch, so this video series hits home. The stories of both servicemen and families that were home are engaging and are a real tear jerker. There is a real familiar feel to the lifestyles portrayed as well which makes it all the more an emotional experience!

    Educational & Entertaining

    This is so very well done. If you love history and learning this will supply both. With so many individual stories it helps you to see just how much The War/World War2 effected so many different lives in so many different ways. Ken Burns and Lindsy Novak present this in such an exquisite way.

    Brilliant!

    I bought this series to go along with the book, The series and the book are 98% identical. Not that there are any discrepancies, but each one has some small fine points that the other has left out. I loved both but MAN WHY IN THE HELL DON'T WE TEACH THIS HISTORY IN OUR SCHOOL. This book and the series are disturbing but brilliant.
