A classic collection sure to please any vintage gaming fan, this version of Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 1 for the PS2 lets you play virtually any type of game, such as fighting games, side-scrolling platform and side-scrolling combat. This collection also includes a range of shooting games, including 2D shooter, platform shooter, and vertical-scrolling shooter. Considered to be one of the early pioneers of gaming, Japanese publisher Capcom was responsible for many of the most beloved arcade titles, such as the Mega Man and Street Fighter series. With Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 1, you have the chance to experience some of the company’s top titles from its early years. Whether you’re just experiencing these classics for the first time or you used to play Capcom games as a child, you’ll definitely get a kick out of these exciting titles. With 22 total games to choose from, this PS2 game offers endless hours of entertainment for all ages, and both younger and older players can enjoy playing titles such as Forgotten Worlds, Gun Smoke, Bionic Commando, and Final Fight. Other titles include Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Legendary Wings, and Pirate Ship Higemaru. Fans of war titles have the chance to play Capcom’s 1942, 1943: The Battle of Midway, and 1943: Kai. Set during World War II in the Pacific Theater, these games let you pilot a plane with the mission of trying to take out the Japanese fleet. Players also get the chance to try out three different versions of Street Fighter II. Challenge your friends to a one-on-one battle in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Champion Edition, or Turbo Hyper Fighting. Battle your way through the levels, fighting comparatively harder computer opponents and bosses to claim the title of champion. Featuring all of your favorite characters, like Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li, and Zangief, each of these versions can be played in either single player or two player mode. Similarly, many of the other titles included with the compilation also feature both single and multiplayer modes, depending on the specific title. Each of the games features the original artwork to provide that true retro gaming experience. The music further adds to the nostalgia, with fun remixed soundtracks to accompany each title. Although the music and graphics in these vintage games may not compare to modern day systems like PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, or Xbox One, these classics are still a true piece of video game history and something every true gamer needs to own. Capcom also released a similar version of this title for the handheld PlayStation Portable, but there’s nothing quite like playing vintage arcade games on a big screen and your PS2, with the music blaring from your speakers.     Capcom Classics Collection for PS 2

    This is a must - buy for any retro gamer who are familiar with games on this compilation. Capcom is a major developer and publisher of video games for coin-ops as well as for several consoles and PC for decades. They are also known for making games which are difficult to master. You don’t want to play games which are too easy but you also don’t want to play games which are too difficult. It all depends on your skill level. So give the compilation a chance to entertain and challenge you.

    A great collection of arcade roms

    Both volumes of the Capcom Classics contain some amazing arcade roms of favorites from that era. Remember this is PS2 and unless you are running it through expensive upscalers it won’t look as good on newer, flat screen TVs as it does on CRT TVs. The game play is awesome and many of the games are hard as nails because they were quarter munchers back in the day. All in all the fact that these are still inexpensive it’s a great buy!!

    Capcom Classics

    I actually bought this to get access to Son Son, Exed Exes/Savage Bees and Gun.Smoke, but I did discover a few titles from this set. The collection is not nearly as impressive as I thought (Street Fighter II Collection would be a better name), but it's a good game to pop in and enjoy a few games for a while

    Yes in did I just love this Game it Tuck me back To my youth going to the Arcade and having Lot's of Fun. This Collection is EXCELLENT Trust Me you Will LOVE IT 2 also is Got 22 Excellent Games In 1 CD Trust Me You Will Not Get Bord and You Will Have Fun With this Game.

    Good Memories

    Playing these video games that I haven't played in years brought back good memories oh when I played video games with friends and family members who were just as passionate about playing video games as I was. They say good memories last forever, and this video game is living proof of that.
