    The item was as described, and it works great without an app or account. My only issue is that I try to buy things here and will pay a few dollars more so that I don’t have to buy from Amzn, but this seller apparently uses them for their shipping. Disappointing. I wish sellers here would stop using them.

    Would like to see magnetic base.

    This is a nice gauge. I use it for setting tool height and measuring and checking part dimensions. I like the accuracy. One feature that should be added is a magnetic base. A strong magnet with an on and off switch such as is used in dial indicator stands wound help hold it on the lathe or milling machine. There should be a gap under the magnet, so that it rests on the precision surface of the base. The magnet only snugs it up.

    A Very Useful Tool

    I ordered this for use in the home workshop. Had not really expected much, just a utility height gauge for use with RC airplane building. Very pleasantly surprised by the appearance, function and all-around quality of this tool. So much so that I will be ordering a second to take to work. Nice, cast iron base that fits the hand well. The scriber is well hardened but needed just a touch from a oilstone to clear a slight burr. All in all a real value .

    Great height gauge at this price point.

    The Taytools 6" height gauge is great for woodworking and even a small machine shop. I use it primarily to set my table saw blade height. It's heavy steel base keeps it where you put it. To my surprise it's column is made of stainless steel and the action is very smooth and accurate. I only found two things I would like changed. (And I'm nit picking now.) The display doesn't hold zero set when you turn it off. You need to re-zero it each time you turn it on. The other thing, a trade off to keep the price reasonable, is the scribe. It isn't made of carbide, so it scratches easily on a carbide saw blade. Over all I'm amazed of the quality at this price point. Don't waste you money on the cheap plastic units. This is much much better for just a little more.

    Good Tool

    It is a nice height gauge, I have a 12 inch height gauge that I have had for years and it is quite heavy and bulky to use, most of my work is much smaller so this one is better for my use, LOVE IT. Only drawback is it should have a carbide tip. I think there is one available, I going to try and find it.
