An interesting precursor to similarly themed takes on the Superman myth such as SMALLVILLE and LOIS & CLARK, THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERBOY emerged in 1988 and lasted for four seasons. In this first season John Haymes Newton played the young Clark Kent (Gerard Christopher was to replace him in later seasons), who attends college and tries to woo Lana Lang (Stacy Haiduk). The entire first season of the show is collected here.

Superboy better then Smallville
I love this Superboy, Too bad they switch actors for season 2. But I mean it, I enjoy this better then Smallville. I love caped heros. I love the episode with Mister Mxyzptlk played by Michael J. Pollard from Scrooged, House of a 1000 Corpses, so many others.

Fun and Nostalgic
An unjustly forgotten gem from decades ago. The production values are great for the time, even though it was run on Saturday mornings.
