Complete Portable Crimper Package
This hydraulic crimper is way better than the cheaper ones that come with copper dies that deform under pressure. I like the fact that the dies that accompany this kit are made of steel and is a full (set) range of dies that can easily crimp any cable lug with the wide range of included incremental "+" dies. I also like the fact that the standard dies are also color coded and stamped for easier identification at a glance. Instructions are alright and easy to understand with illustrations. Included is a seal repair kit in case of seal leaks. Only downside to this style of crimper is you need 4 hands otherwise it is handy when working out in the field. This tool is Great buy at this price range. I highly recommend this kit for the hobbyist as well as the Pro-Sumer's out there. Love my new TH0005 Crimper
Great on-the-go or in-the-shop Crimper.. I've been crimping lugs for decades the old fashioned way, Sledge Hammer and Lug Dies.. which works great as long as you carry an anvil of sorts. This TH0005 set has every size Die Set you'll need and then some. The working end is a massive steel fork, much heavier than needed thus I suspect it will outlast me for sure. The carry case needs a bit of modification, ie. padding added in certain places to keep everything in place while traveling, else the dies tend to jump out of their allotted spaces. I used some adhesive felt, added a few pieces on strategic spots and that works great. The only part that I consider the-weakest-link is the hydraulic release spinner knob / valve, it seems a bit loose and in my mind not well built. If I were to ... If I were to accidentally drop the tool, and if it landed or bumped hard on that knob, it will break off for sure. I've decided to be extra careful with that, and never loan out my tool for the same reason. Been using the TH0005 several times a week flawlessly, actually look forward to crimping since I got the tool. I've also used it in Swaging applications where Wire Rope (cable) needs sleeves crimped on to form end loops, etc. Works great for swaging too. Overall, great tool.. paid for itself quickly.

Nice, but dies are slightly off
The dies are a bit too big, at least for 2 AWG. When crimping good quality lugs, it will not crimp them complete enough and I can pull the cable out. If I go down a die size, it leaves "wings" on the lug. Same experience with Anderson Power Product 2 AWG lugs for their SB-175 which are thicker than normal lugs. One size die is too big and the next size down is too small. The lug should be compressed to have nice, sharp edges on all hex sides but no "wings" where the dies meet. I can either get all rounded edges and a loose crimp or sharp edges with two wings. My guess is these are metric dies labeled for AWG. Great tool with all accessories.
High quality, great warranty and return policy. Product appears to have great customer support although I have not had to use it. Price very reasonable compared to other hand crimping tools. Very easy to use.

Well constructed quality tool.
This item appears to be very well constructed and thought out. Comes complete with all the necessary wire crimp mandrels, and heavy gauge plastic storage box, not to mention extra O rings and seals in the unlikely event you need to replace one. In all honesty, I haven't tried it out yet, however relative to the old crimp tool I had been using, this has got to be 100% better by any standards. It will be nice to have, cosmetic and electrically sound connections.This item appears to be very well constructed and thought out. Comes complete with all the necessary wire crimp mandrels, and heavy gauge plastic storage box, not to mention extra O rings and seals in the unlikely event you need to replace one.
