Product Information

Intended to be the final vel of the 'Octagon Fragrance' series 'The Painting initiative' is by means a stalgic withdrawl from conflict as Henry, Tracey and Margaret join forces yet again in an all consuming effort to solve an incredibly compelling mystery. Henry finds it necessary to return to his former calling as homicide detective to unravel the circumstances of a disaster that destroyed the pleasant existence for which he had strived so determinedly. Leaving stone unturned he does his best to cooperate with Police Chief Ten and his officers only to find both himself and one of his companions accused of obstruction and even murder. Eventually his struggle to regain at least part of the personal stability he had enjoyed takes him to Tasmania and the revelation of a secret that leads him to question his perception of right and wrong and his ability to uphold the law. Nevertheless this does t mean that the reader is about to enter a interminable labyrinth of dark thoughts and despair. The incorrigible Margaret and the high spirited Tracey see to it that Henry is t allowed to wallow in the mire and determinedly thrust him ever forward despite enduring calamities of their own. All this, of course, results from ather ambitious project undertaken by the Cleo Green clones and ends in a cataclysmic event that could threaten the lives of millions of incent people. The characters that inhabit this story are so engaging and human the author himself has felt compelled to review his intention to end the series with this particular fusion of mystery, adventure, mayhem, humour and romance. Certainly many will identify with Henry while he lurches from one situation to the next as the nirvana of a tranquil stable relationship with one of the fairer sex constantly eludes him. Now is the time to place your shyness aside and join in with Henry and his friends to share the unforgetable moments that make life just that much more worthwhile!

Author Biography
Herbert Back lives in Queensland, Australia, and is educated to university standard. He has followed a great number of pursuits in his lifetime and even in retirement is involved with computers, electronics, carpentry, motor mechanics, metal working and, of course, writing. He spent a great deal of his younger days travelling by every means available all over the vast state of Queensland and also embarked on several long motoring trips through the other states of Australia. Willing to try his hand at anything he worked as a public servant, clerk, accounting machine technician, postal officer, taxi driver, milk vendor, motor mechanic, metal worker and even farm hand. For relaxation Herbert enjoys reading, music, gardening and membership at a local gym. A lifetime fascination with movies has seen him build up an impressive library of titles both old and new and his tastes extend to most genres although he admits to a distinct bias to science fiction, modern action and romantic comedy. Another aspect of modern life Herbert finds endlessly fascinating is aviation and the space industry. He recalls being on a study course when the first moon landing was achieved and admits that while the details of that epic journey come very easily to mind he has retained nothing about what the course was about! All through his life Herbert nursed an ambition to write fictional novels. During his last decade of active employment human cloning became, and still is, a major social issue. He saw in that inspiration for a series of novels that were not too heavy handed or moralistic to explore at a reasonably practical level what might happen when a group of cloned women are unleashed upon an unsuspecting free world. So the Cleo Greens were born. Naturally Herbert could not let the clones snatch all of the limelight so the story became a rollicking tale of adventure, romance, human relationships and ambition. As a writer he hopes that his readers enjoy his work as much as he did creating it! At present Herbert has struck a conundrum as to what to do with the Octagon Fragrance series now that The Nightingale Initiative is complete. He is hoping that feedback from his loyal readers will present him with the best direction to take, but, rest assured, he will not remain idle for long!

Postage: The book arrived much quicker than anticipated. Packing: The book was solidly packed in a large cardboard-type envelope and securely sealed. Communication: I was sent several updates in regard to the postage, which was great. Overall: I highly recommend this seller and would definitely purchase from them again.

Item arrived as described, in perfect condition and in about a week. Well packaged in a large envelope and I thought it was well priced ... until I saw it elsewhere for half as much. Never mind, for a relatively low-priced item, I'm not too sore about paying more for this highly regarded tome. Good seller. Can recommended.

Lovely wee copy of James Joyce first ever publication. Arrived in great condition, good value given quality & appearance were just as described. Communication from seller was excellent though I was concerned when I realised delivery would be with Aramex. The only other time they've delivered I know they didn't even bother trying & I had to go out to pick up from their agent. But this time they left it safely by the front door - so pleased. Thanks for an excellent interaction.
