Based on the novels by Anthony Trollope, THE PALLISERS is set in Victorian England, and charters the life of an upper class family. Produced by the BBC, this show follows in the great British tradition of high quality drama shows, and features Derek Jacobi, Jeremy Irons, and Penelope Keith among the cast members. Philip Latham stars as Plantagenet Palliser, a politician who appears to be in a highly unsuitable marriage to the highfalutin Lady Glencora (Susan Hampshire). As the series progresses, Glencora accepts her situation, and even comes to the aid of her husband in his political career. Other characters also play out political roles, and often mirror the situation of the principle couple by carrying the burden of their relationship issues into their work lives. A huge hit on PBS, this release features the show in its entirety.

Wonderful Compelling and Addictive
I started to watch this series The Pallisers many years ago but I stopped after two episodes I found the old European names of the characters too distracting I recently saw it for sale on eBay so I figured I'd give it a try again I found it to be wonderful engaging very entertaining

Drama at its best!
This series gives me a glance, of time passed a time of chivalry and beautiful ladies in beautiful gowns. I really enjoyed the look of this series, and the story line. Makes me want to read the novel.

Looking forward to watching.
Haven't watched it yet, but checked playability, clarity, sound, etc. Bought for Anthony Trollope. Sure it will be outstanding.
