Wonderful, Quirky, Fascinating Series
Doc Marin is, quite simply, one of the best British series ever. The doctor is unbelievably rude and surly and yet extremely likable. Louisa is beautiful and extremely relatable. The other characters are quirky and fun and interesting. We are loving every minute of this show and highly recommend it to anyone seeking something 'different'.

China Beach is Worth watching on DVD!
I remembered this television show fondly, but it's not available for streaming. It really holds up all these years later. Great characters and storylines. Had a little difficulty playing a couple of the discs on some of my dvd players (I have several). They either wouldn't load, or had skipping issues. It may be that may dvd players are just too old. But I eventually got all the discs to play on one of them.

China Beach The Complete Series!
This is without a doubt, One of the Best T.V. shows to come out on DVD. The stories told are very much what our troops both women and men had to face in one of are most controversial military actions in our history. Vietnam was declared a police action and not a war but the Men and Women along with Many Civilians who were there will tell you it was in fact a War with some of the most intense combat fighting. This DVD set tries to show all aspects of this conflict and the affects it had on both sides. It shows the very harsh reality of combat without glorification and shows the courage displayed by our troops along with the stories of the many men and women who's job it was to try to save them after being wounded to get them back from the front lines for further needed medical treatment. China Beach The Complete Series is also not all blood and gore and sometimes takes us on a journey to the lighter side of the people that were there, giving it a true believable story line that all should enjoy. I highly recommend this series for your DVD collection.

Great Series, Not on TV Anymore
If, like me, you'd missed this series in 1989-91, you've missed a great TV series. The characters are deep and engaging. And they are treated with great affection throughout the series. The soundtrack is amazing. The story is based on historical facts from the time it was set. It's well worth the purchase.

Great show still relevant
Seasons 1,3,and 4 are excellent. For my wife and i season 2 was very boring and just about made us stop watching, if not for the fact we bought all of the series. Thankfully season 3 was right back to the china beach we loved and season 4 does a excellent job of concluding the series. Very few shows can say that.

Lacking basic features
Video quality is not bad. The only things that keep this from 5 stars is the lack of closed captioning & an episode guide. There are booklets for each of the 4 seasons with some interesting tidbits, and there is a series guide that again has trivia and facts but no details of each episode. Annoying but not fatal. The potential fatality is the missing CC. For deaf & hard of hearing folks this is a crucial oversight. Bottom line is it's great to have the series available, even with its flaws.

A Groundbreaking TV series
Thoughtful treatment of controversial material. Well written and acted. One of the best broadcast series ever. Comes close to the truth about Viet Nam yet dips into fantasy when needed to get closer to that truth. Written more from the point of view of the women who served in the Army Nurse Corps than any other TV broadcast. Great music too!

Vietnam Revisited
This series tries successfully to capture the mood, despair, and craziness of the Vietnam War through a diverse group of people just wanting to survive the experience. The acting is good and Dana Delany is exceptional at presenting a multidimensional McMurphy. Great viewing to get a sense of how the Vietnam War impacted a nation.

Excellent drama
excellent drama--likeable characters, great acting and directing, thought provoking plots, deep messages about war and value of life. due to age of series subtitles and audio options not available but for the mildly hearing impaired its not hard to catch all that is said

Awesome
Very good sitcom from the 80's. Best music in every show..our grandkids love the idea its about the women and not the man, they love the music as well and they would like to see it come back...great to watch no matter how many times you view it.
