    Gripping from the start!

    If you want a concise, enlightened, and researched book on the Silk Road and what it means for the current moment then, without doubt, this is the book for you. Frankopan has such an engaging style, detailed and witty in places. Without doubt this book has opened my eyes to the Silk Road, it’s history, it’s cultural,intellectual and social impact on the world then and today.

    The Silk Road….A book to hang on to, and keep dipping into.

    It’s one of those books that tells you everything you need to know without being boring. It has generous illustrations and follows along quite smoothly without constantly having to refer back to previous sections.
