    I gave a low rating on the shipping cost and the arrival time because it did take several days to get to me, so it was probably shipped as media mail, but the charges for shipment consisted with first class mail shipping cost. However, the book arrived in great condition. Seller went an extra mile by wrapping it in a cardboard cover to protect it while in transit. I would by from seller again.

    You paid $4.47 for Media Mail as stated in the listing. First class mail does not exist any more as it has been changed to USPS Ground Advantage. Things take awhile to ship from via ground from Montana. Sorry, the speed of USPS is out of my control. Hope you enjoy the book.

    LYMAN MANUALS ROCK

    My very first manual was a 45th edition of Lyman`s reloading manual. Wish I had that one back! While this manual is good. It doesn`t come close to the old manuals. I would trade this one for a 45th edition in a heartbeat. But you can`t use the loading data in the old manuals because components have changed over the years. Also, equipment for testing is better now, and we know now that loads we used to load were way over safe pressures. So, be safe and use new manuals. Powder is different today than it was 30yrs. ago. Back in the day, we would load a 240g. JHP over a CCI 350 primer with 24grns. of 2400 in a 44MAG. Today, that might blow up some guns.

    Pretty good book.

    This is a pretty good book and covers some cast bullets. It doesn't have nearly the number of loads as other books like Hornady but it is not geared to one brand of bullets and powder either. I believe a reloader should own several manuals and I'm happy I have this one in my collection.

    Excellent reference source

    This is historically a very well written book. The Lyman 49th edition is well organized and illustrated. It explains each step of reloading for the novice and has advanced sections for the experienced. Each chapter covers areas from safety to equipment. The difference in primer size, brass types and crimping goes into detail. The sections covering powders include all major brands including imports, the same for bullets. This edition includes newer powders and calibers such as the WSM and WSSM. I was a little disappointed that more wasn't written about Varget. A good synopsis and history is written on each round. Each caliber has several bullet weight and powder combinations with minimum and maximum loads, compressed loads and optimum load. Overall I would rate this as an essential part of ...

    Great Data!

    Ordered this book as I read it was better than the 50th edition. I haven't had the chance to officially review the 50th, but I can tell you the 49th edition had everything in it I wanted answered in regards to my reloading needs and then some. Plus I definitely like the hardcover edition over the softcover. Great illustrations and laid out in an organized and easy to read format. I highly recommend it to others.

    A Must Have for the Sniper in Your Life!

    With decades of reloading experience, I strongly recommend this with other reloading handbooks, guides, and manuals, If you want to shoot more accurately, buy and read this book. If you want to save money on your shooting, buy this book. This book compliments other books and I have it in my office workspace. This will take your shooting, and long range shots to a new level of accuracy.
