Product Information

Ran is a master swordsman who wanders Japan's countryside determined to battle injustice and fight for law and order. Her noble quest does not preclude her from enjoying herself. Ran is saddled with an unwanted companion for her journey; a young woman named Meow. In this complete collection, Meow and Ran get more comfortable with each other and even manage to share a civil drink. When a modeling agent approaches Meow, it is not long before she entertains dreams of the glamorous life. Ran detects something suspicious about Meow's supposed talent scout and is determined to expose the operation as a fraud. A rather strange cult attracts the rather dim Meow's attention, forcing Ran to investigate the organization. Later, a stranger from overseas travels to Japan to follow Ran. In the concluding episode, a strange new character that does not seem like Ran's type may actually be her boyfriend.

  • An obscure classic that needs to be seen!

Tsukikage Ran is a classic that is unfortunately obscure to most anime fans today. The main character, Ran, is a wandering samurai who helps out whoever she pleases and just lives however she pleases, albeit for the most part always broke and going hungry often. This basically is a slice-of-life/action/comedy anime since there is no driving plot nor ultimate end goal for the main character to achieve. Its just Ran and her day-to-day life of a samurai. She is somewhat considered a oddity since she is a female samurai, but her skills as a swordsman is almost up to par with Rurouni Kenshin, if not on equal footing. The one major con for the show is that the male character design for the most part is rather mediocre, forgettable, and rather ugly to look at. Its unfortunate since the rest of the show looks fine that the male cast is so unappealing to look at that it becomes a major detractor. But if you don't mind that, than this show is worth a look at!

  • Great anime, great price

The discs are in great condition and played well. This is a classic anime that is rather hard to find, and it was nice to get it at a fair price.
