  • If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.

    Besides the fact that the language and examples in the book didn't age well (it is sexist at times, examples often describe some businessmen or salesmen or other "successful people", author tries too hard to convince a reader how miraculously good are his methods and so on, so it is a little bit cringey at times), it seems to be a really genuine, basic, simple and effective tool to deal with depression. I was on CBT with a therapist before so for me it is just a kind of reminder of methods I've been already using. I didn't make any "script" when I was doing my therapy so this book works perfectly for me. There are books probably newer, better and more suitable for contemporary reader but if you like classics, go for it.

  • Must read if you are always in a negative mood, sad or depressed

    If yo struggle with depression, got get help, in addition to help reading this book will help you change the way you see things in life. It's also a good book for people that are going through hard times in life. It talks about medication, therapy and other similar topics. The book is based on Dr. Burns work and practice. Still reading it.

    I reached breaking point after years of negative thinking patterns and was recommended this book. I bought it and I’m honestly in shock with the instant relief, honestly. I actually bought another two copies for my mum and sister.
