A very bad investment due to poor tolerances.
The parts don't fit my Craftsman ratchet number 44807! The "gear" is too wide so it binds badly when assembled rendering the ratchet unusable. Machining on a lathe fixed the problem. The new snap ring was of inferior quality. It broke the instant it was compressed with snap ring pliers. The original snap ring worked fine. The new snap ring and retainer plate are thicker than the original adding to the binding problem so I used the originals after machining the gear. The instructions clearly state that this kit is supposed to be for my ratchet number 44807.

Works well but needs a bit of ingenuity.
Good quality. Had a 'refurbished' tag inside bag. This kit (and others) does not include the crucial Assembly Tool described in the instructions - though it is not listed on 'included parts' on first page. Not available online and so I carefully made one from a paper clip. See picture for detail. I previously repaired a 1/2 inch ratchet that was easy, because all the parts are so much larger. This one (1/4 inch), has everything miniaturized to the point it took two of us to insert the pawl while holding the tiny lever and my homemade assembly tool. If you lose the ball bearing, it is 2.3mm

Item shipped fast BUT it did not have the installation tool included. Tool is needed to hold down the ball bearing to install. I fashioned my own, but it took 45 minutes to get the socket wrench to work correctly, when it would have taken 10 minutes if the tool was included. Instructions showed the install tool - not in the bag. Happy with the product, but for the cost, this should have had the full parts - or called out on the description and I would have bought from someone else

Awsome Craftsman ratchet repair kit.
This kit is really good. The only thing that it didn't contain was the spring/poppet ball installation too. But, it was easy for me to make one. It takes a little patience, but the directions were very good. I'm very happy that I decided to rebuild the ratchet, and not just toss it away.

Ratchet repaired
The repair kit had all the parts to repair my ratchet that was broken. It however was missing the tool to depress the spring and ball bearing. The included paperwork showed that as included in the kit but it was missing.

Perfect little rebuild kit
Slick and easy to install kit. Fit my ratchet handle perfectly. Others have mentioned the lack of the little install tool and I made mine from a little piece of safety wire. A dab of grease held everything in position.

Worked perfectly!
As described and worked perfectly. Glad I was able to repair my USA made craftsman product with USA parts! Would have hated to replace with Chinese product!

Kit needs an extra device to reassemble the ratchet
Kit should come with a thin metal hold down strip to hold the ball and spring down while assembling. Installing the ratchet cam. Without being able to hold down device is nearly impossible so I still haven't gotten the ratchet reassembled yet

US made repair kit for US made tool.
US made replacement parts for a US made tool. I don't use 1/4 inch too often but when I do I want and need it to work. Now it does. The ONLY thing wrong was no tool to hold the selector ball and spring down while assembling. Did manage to adapt something else to make the necessary tool. Didn't want to replace the entire US made ratchet with something made overseas. Have enough problems with foreign made tools not lasting or being strong enough to do more than designed for.
