Band of Brothers
From the out set of this is a gripping series it show's the dedication of these courageous men that enlisted to fight for freedom. The interspersion of documentary style comments at the start of each episode from the real survivors forces you to understand that this really happened and adds to the realism and truly shows the bravery of what these men (young men) had to endure from day one. To parachute straight in behind enemy lines and immediately be thrown into bloody combat is unthinkable. This series is beautifully filmed and the acting is gripping. An enduring epic miniseries
I first read Stephen Ambrose's book on which the series is based. Then watched the section on the making of the film and the video diary. Then took in the interviews with the veterans - very interesting. Finally watched the series.
