Exorcize Your Rites To Own This Movie Today
After receiving a holy relic from her mother vacationing abroad, a hair stylist begins to experience a terrifying phenomenon known as the Stigmata where those afflicted begin to experience the living wounds of Christ during his crucifixion. This time though it's not Christ but the spirit of an exiled priest the relic once belonged to and she has a message the Vatican would kill to keep silent. This movie was panned by critics as an Exorcist knock off for Generation X. But when I saw it, it disturbed me enough to make me start attending church again for a few more years. I guess I saw it while experiencing my own loss of faith but the scene that really did it was the one in Frankie's loft where she appears nailed to a cross and Andrew has to "lift" her from it. It's also funny seeing Gabriel Byrne play a doubting priest when a year later he was cast as the Devil in End of Days. The blu ray is great. Scream Factory has done an incredible job in giving this MGM catalogue title the hi-def treatment. Audio sounds great in its 5.1 DTS Master (a 2.0 DTS master is also available for a more softer, "night time" viewing). Video is great. Grain is present but isn't distracting. Blacks are nice and inky. All of the DVD's special features including Natalie Imbruglia's haunting music video "Identify" are presented (iTunes seriously needs to get the rights to this song). Also two new informative featurettes covering the Stigmata phenomena are here as well. All in all, Stigmata has a rightful home in my private collection.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
