Expected more from a Steven Spielberg production
I got the feeling that this movie was not well planned. Maybe a bit of a rush job or low budget production. He had Zahn McClaren from Longmire in the cast who I really like. The characters were not well formed and It was difficult to keep up with who was who because of that. There were some very interesting parts based on history and Native American culture. The subtitles were easy to follow. It is a depressing movie, but that was a very sad time in our history. All in all I would not watch it again. "Hatfields and the McCoys" is excellent. "Hell on Wheels" was done very well, but a little too graphic at times for my taste. Longmire is the best! Hope this helps.

Into the west
Excellent quality....great story about the west settlement in early America. The story assumes Jediah Smith was killed in the far west, when in fact he was killed on the Santa Fe trail in present day Kansas 1831 by Cheyenne Indians...the rest I find very factual...great history !!!!

Into The West DVD set
I received the DVD set in perfect condition, and it played without any hiccups. The series is excellent and absolutely chock-full of history and facts. Excellent storytelling. I highly recommend as a way to learn and also be entertained.

Rich cultures, characters and visuals.
Excellent mini series, well acted with great detail to period clothing and artifacts. A genuine attempt to show the true story complete with humanizing all the individuals involved in the early days of America, both the good, the bad, the misunderstanding and clashing of the cultures.

Very great mini series
Loved Steven Spielberg’s portrait of Indian Life and the settler and how their paths crossed for good and bad. Highly recommend this beautifully done mini series. Finally a positive portrait of the American Indians and what was done to their beautiful way of life by greed for what was theirs.

American history at it's best!
Although this was a 2005 mini-series the history is so relevant today. Excellent acting, beautiful locations throughout the American west. We made ourselves watch only 1 episode a day to make the anticipation last! A total of 6 episodes plus one disc of extras. Worth every penny I spent!

Tells you everything you need to know.
This series is one of the best reviews of history during the 19th century. Telling life stories from both the Indian and White families is very powerful. We will watch this over and over again.

Wonderfully done--interesting to a T

Into The West
It's a great movie. Steven Spielberg did a awesome job on it. I highly recommend this movie.
