    The Bible Jesus Quoted

    Recent scholarship and new archaeological discoveries of ancient texts has shown the Septuagint to be the most reliable translation of ancient Hebrew texts. A much more sure and complete rendering than that of the Masoretic texts compiled and edited by jewish scholars between the 7th and 11th century. The Orthodox Study Bible is a faithful translation of the Septuagint and should be in the hands of not only every Orthodox Christian but any Christian who desires the full and complete story. Numerous times in the New Testament, scripture is quoted by Christ or the Apostles yet when you look for the reference you see something vastly different. However if you look in this translation of the Septuagint, low and behold there you see it, just as quoted. I would also highly recommend "Which ...

    Best English translation, tweaked to be presise.

    Foot notes with the wisdom and understanding of the scriptures going back 20000 years. No other translation is more presise. Footnotes, historical statements and more make this better than any other ever created.

    A different Slice

    I was raised Wesleyan, Trinitarian, Pentecostal, Holiness. So this is a different look. For those that don’t know, the Pentecostal viewpoint originated from Wesley and Methodism, who was ordained by and Orthodox bishop and took great love for the ancient “primitive Christianity” as did the rest of the Anglicans. This Bible illuminated that in wonderful ways with an Old Testament faithful to the Dead Sea Scrolls before they were changed by the Masoretic Text aurhors to avoid Jesus. God bless.     OUTSTANDING BIBLE

    This is a great informative Bible which explains the the original Christianity. it also explains how the eastern orthodox doesn't worship the virgin Mary. I cant say much for the Roman Catholic's....
