It's necessary if you own a Honda & need brake fluid
If you own a Honda & need brake fluid, you'll need it. Honda designs their vehicles in such a way that you have to use their brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, antifreeze, and rear differential fluid (if your Honda has all-wheel-drive). Or, you can also buy products that are specifically "for Hondas by the likes of Prestone and other companies. But, I prefer the real deal Honda stuff to play it safe. If you don't use Honda or Honda approved fluids, those respective components will not run properly, and they will eventually fail, costing you lots of money to replace. So, by that standard, this brake fluid is a good purchase. Is it a bit more costly than your generic DOT 3 brake fluid? Yes, thanks to Honda. In general, are Hondas usually reliable as stink, and do Hondas usually last longer than most other brands? YES! So, is it worth a little extra to buy the good stuff for your Honda?
