Newer is not necessarily better
I've been known to go for an older model on some items, and this was just such a case. My TVs are 1080P; I'm quite satisfied with them until such time as they eventually fail and would need to be replaced. I don't have 4K service here.so the 4K support features of allied devices are superfluous and irrelevant. Also had no interest in Alexa (which could be listening in on all sorts of things) etc., so those later features are not needed or wanted here. In regard to these Nvidia Shield models, I preferred having the micro-SD card slot to the dual USB ports. So, this earlier model happened to be the right fit for me. It has been a very good product, reliable, superior to competing brands in this category, and it well covers the functionality I was looking for. I'm seeing the latest & supposedly greatest Shield models going for up to $400., and thinking WHY ?! I spent much less than half of that, *including* the shipping.

Awesome Streaming Android Box!!!!!
I absolutely love my NVIDIA Shield! I would highly recommend to anyone who wants one of, if not the best streaming Android box. It's super easy to set up and use. You can be streaming in about 5 minutes once you have it out of the box. This makes my 3rd Shield I've bought for my household as I have added more TVs.

Just Buy one & you will Never Regreat it !
The NVIDIA Shield is By Far The Best & Fastest Streaming Device i have Ever Had/Used it just Works & No Stupid Stuttering/buffering an waiting on stuff to load its just their ready to go as soon as ya push go! & it works Really well for some old Retro games to like the NES & SNES and the Sega Genesis i mean Who dont love some old school Super Mario Bros ..lol. it Really is the best streaming device money can buy ! I Just Wish i had Bought one Years Ago...o get one with the 4gb of ram & controller if ya want to do old school gaming btw imo

seems ok, was a little unsure at first the software seemed a bit ... jittery. but I think it's working overall. A little spit and polish and it was off to the races.
