Product Information

Nintendo's savvy professor with the stovepipe hat marks his 3DS debut by heading to the carnival city of Monte d'Or to investigate a masked villain in Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. As always, gamers join the professor and his assistants Emmy and Luke as they explore their surroundings, talk to residents, and solve dozens of logic puzzles. The investigation soon leads them to find a mysterious artifact that may explain why the professor's friend disappeared 18 years earlier. Puzzle scenarios are presented on the top screen, with players using their stylus and touch screen to solve puzzles and earn Picarats. Gamers receive the maximum number of Picarats if they find the solution on their first try, but they can also use Hint Coins if they get stuck on any particular puzzle. Miracle Mask also includes a variety of mini-games for those who want to test their wits outside of the main storyline, and gamers can download one new puzzle every day for a year after the game's release.

    Arrived in a solid reused cardboard box, box set wrapped up inside using bubble wrap. Good old boxed game set which appears complete. Described as being in very good condition and it broadly is, although the back of the map has been drawn on. Loose counters are presumably all present. Nice to see the dice too!     Just right.

    It's the first Layton game in 3D, and the transition is done nicely. The characters are still colourful, recognizable and cartoony. The puzzles don't focus too much on the 3DS new functions and there aren't any puzzles that reappear too much so there is a nice variation of puzzles. The story is what you expect from a Layton game: a bit on the wrong end of the border on Suspension of Disbelief but I don't play this series for the story anyway. My biggest complaint is that I found a character that I probably was supposed to like utterly selfish, unable to connect with others and greedy. Not to mention the idea that to be faithful is to never stop (or begin) mourning. The series is getting a little bit darker, but luckily not too much. Some people will not like the dungeon chapter, but I ...

    1ST Class Entertainment

    Brilliant game. Enjoyable gameplay, lots of lovely puzzles. Lots of humour and excitement from our gentleman hero and his two companions. A great game for all the family. Fantastic value for money.
