How did this trash start a franchise?
What a DULL DULL film! I did see this in the theater in 1980 as a teen. Didn't really have an opinion on it then. Seeing it now, it's just a series of characters getting knocked off one after another. That's the whole film. Flat dialog between the murders. Not even mildly amusing jokes. The only saving grace is Tom Savini's make-up and effects. Very well done and convincing. Betsy Palmer has nothing more than a cameo role and her big speech wasn't memorable. This is a nothing film, yet people somehow wanted decades of sequels, maybe reboots too. Not interested enough to check.
