Highly honored film gets a boost from Bluray remastering
Production of the Bluray was excellent with a clean transfer, natural processing and audio with depth and presence. Makes the most of the original photography and lighting of that era. Career performances by Montgomery Clift and Burt Lancaster, who make some of the other actors seem contrived, stiff and wooden in comparison. Film and story hold up well considering the passage of time, although some of the dialog is truly cringeworthy, and the emphasis on drunkenness and smoking is tiresome.

A movie classic
This was a gift to an old friend who had not seen it. Fantastic movie concerning the time period just before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Great cast didn't hurt.
