10 minutes of time to swap, well worth it with a reliable seller to boot!
There are many people offering replacement display screens. Turns out the are not all the same, even when they claim to fit. There are two versions of this for the model years. One for cars built in the US and one for those coming in from Europe. The difference is the plug assemblies. The American version has two plugs that connect to different points. The assembly for the European version has a combined plug where both sets of cables connect at the same point. They are different! After weeks of angst and research I finally identified this difference. I confirmed it by pulling the trim off the dash, a very easy pull requiring no tools. Open the glove box, pull gently until the spring clip releases. Move down toward the START button and you are done. There are two #15 star screws holding the display in place. Remove them, turn it around and look for yourself as to what part number is on the label, and what type of connections you have. Put it back together and order with confidence. It takes less than 10 minutes to do the actual replacement and no special skills are needed. This seller was unresponsive to several inquiries concerning condition, but they have good reviews so I took a shot. It shipped and was here when indicated. The display was clean and had a few tiny superficial scratches that I really had to look for to find. Not any different than the 7 year old one I replaced.
