Had to drill the holes for these reeds. After replacing the reed plates the harp sounded OK, but I'll stick with my Suzuki MR-350 ProMaster Harmonicas in the future.

I've been playing Golden Melodies for 40 years. I bought the reed plates because I don't like the new GM. So I got the 542 reed plates to replace the old blown out ones. I put the reed plates in. Fastened all the screws. The sound is terrible. I tried loosening the screws to see if I had made them too tight. No diff.
