Great Movie
This is a great movie. My son is a history buff. He has seen this movie before. I bought the move as a Christmas present. I knew he will be happy.

Great World War 2 Film
D-Day was definitely the greatest battle fought by the greatest generation. This movie shows Operation Overlord from all sides engaged in the battle - German, British, Canadian, French, French resistance, Polish, and American. The complexity of this operation included military deception, aerial bombardment, airborne, glider, naval gunfire, and amphibious assault forces. It is a "must see" movie for war movie enthusiasts.

D day
The longest day is a movie about DDay. Granted, it's a black and white movie, but it has so many great actors in it, like John Wayne, Henry foundation, Robert Michell to name a few.

Very worthwhile for History buffs
I am a history buff. I had the movie on VHS (recorded off TV many years ago); my VHS player died [it wasn't worth the cost of repair] so I ordered it on DVD - much to my surprise it had the sub-titles - I had been told that DVD's with subtitles weren't available & that the cast, apparently, had done it twice - once with sub-titles & once in English only.

The little town of BEDFORD, VIRGINIA lost more men at Normandy; than any other community in the United States that fateful day !!
Outstanding motion picture of the brave Allied Force , who landed on the beaches of NORMANDY on JUNE 6. 1944 !! GOD BLESS THEM ALL !!!!

Great movie should add it to collection
I saw this movie as a young boy and was very impressed by it. Now as a adult still and and see it in a different light and more to it what remember of it. Am glad to at it to my collect of dvds

Heavyweight but with many stories
Many different storylines of many people but the plot and acting works great. So many great actors play many different roles and that's ok because every story and character all comes together for a great ending
