Not what I expected but still a good watch!
Misfit boy that is quiet, yet longs for friends in his new school. Eventually he winds up finding a group that is mixed with very different, bold, artsy personalities. He finally feels he belongs after being a loner after losing his one best friend to suicide. This movie: It deals with depression and the truth about mental illness.
The new group of kids that accepts him appears to have it together, for him only to find out they themselves have their own issues. The story line shows a wide variety of today’s issues teens endure.
One friend is a gay guy that falls in love with boy that is popular, yet acts straight for the approval of his father. The other is a girl wild, but sophisticated while dealing with low self esteem and a past known for being promiscuous. They appear to care less what people think of them, but they all have the stories of correcting their past mistakes. You get to see the stories and growth of all the kids journeys through this movie. These three friends start becoming very close, they allows him to be himself through expectance. They refuse to judge someone bc they two have a past. They give him a new look at life, shows him how to engage with others, all while him trying to deal with a dark past he refuses to share. A past he eventually has to face.
The movie is a reality movie, not the same happy story line as most teen movies with a perfect world and life, but rather a happy ending without the need to be perfect. It’s Funny yet has moments you can relate to on a personal level Regardless of your walk in life. The group helps him to face daily issues. All of them love their odd and they truly embrace it. It shows how true friendships, hard ships can over come many obstacles. Best part is they teach other people can truly love u for who u are inside and out, Regardless of your flaws. They’re the wallflowers!!! Very raw, yet entertaining. Good watch!!!!
