Arab Byzantine Coins provides a great description of the effects of the Islamic Conquest on the coinage of Egypt, Syria and Judaea during the 7th century AD. In particular this book illustrates the incremental step by step changes in both legends and devices, as the Arab culture and government gradually took full control of conquered areas. A book of this type is quite essential for one who would like to accurately attribute coinage of 7th century Levant.
