Great album...finally with a proper transfer to CD.
I bought the original CD release. It was, in fact, one of the first CDs I ever purchased, back when they were a new thing. That CD was horrible. The audio was transferred from something other than master tapes. It was a bad multi generation copy of a tape. On the original CD, there was a lot of crackling sounds in the high end. And the lows were considerably thinner than on the original LP version. However, this version (with hologram cover)...is a massive improvement! Its a great time capsule of an album. Many bands of this ilk, in the 60s, made singles...and would then piece together an album with those singles and some lackluster filler material, usually covers. But Iron Butterfly made a strong album from beginning to end. The songs are all good, the playing is good, and the mix is good. Bands were just starting to get into experimenting in the studio...but this CD sounds like the band was essentially running through the songs live. Its very straight ahead rock and roll. Yet it still sounds ultra trippy and psychedelic. Anyway... with the discovery of a first generation master tape... the quality has been improved beyond measure.

Thank you so much for the exceptional packaging and the poly bag too! Arrived in wonderful condition. When I heard that Doug Ingle just died, I had to finally buy this. I still remember the first time I heard Iron Butterfly, what a thrill at the time of release. I had the vinyl records but never the CD's. What a dope. I never saw them live, wish I had. This CD is the one to own because it's from the first generation masters. Thank you Rhino and Bill Inglot.

Great Iron Butterfly music
iron butterfly at their best. I like the different versions of in a gaddada vida.One is studiio another is live at a concert. This is a great album.
