You will wonder how you ever got by without it.
This book is not cheap (good grammar books never are) but it is excellent value as an indispensable reference resource for anyone beginning the study of Japanese who has ever found their head spinning when it comes to remembering key features of the way the language "bolts together" -- in particular the many and subtly different uses of the particles. The authors have gone to great lengths to explain basic grammar thoroughly but succinctly in a systematic and, above all, clearly presented manner which they have illustrated with a wealth of helpful examples.

Excellent book for clarification of particles!
I got this as a supplement to my college Japanese language course to help me better understand particle use. So far, it has been incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend it as a learning tool! You won't learn Japanese from it, but it is the dictionary it claims to be. There are ample examples of how to use each word in different contexts. Definitely worth the money!

Incredibly helpful Japanese grammar reference
I've been taking Genki Japanese for the past year and a half, and this book is a fantastic companion. I really like how the book is organized by the Romaji spelling of the Japanese word/particle (like "koto" or "nara"), making it easy to find an entry. There are also a ton of cross-links between similar topics, which has introduced me to subtle grammatical concepts that Genki didn't really cover. I liked it so much that I just bought the "intermediate" version of the book, too.

this book is helpful!
You should really consider buying this book! IT change the way I see japanese grammer! (In a good way). It has everything you need to know in japanese alphabetical order! It not only shows you the points of grammer in thrall detail, but it gives examples through sentence.

Great study aid
The word dictionary in the title is a bit misleading. It is a compendium, arranged in alphabetical order. So much information!

Technically Speaking
This book is technical, gets down into the specific details and gives great examples to help explain how to speak Japanese!
