Spartacus: Gods of the Arena: The Complete Collection is based on a television program produced by Starz and released on video by Anchor Bay Entertainment. The two-disc set covers the 2011 broadcasting season and features all of the related televised programming as of its release in late 2011. The series is a fantasy drama that centers on the fictional House of Batiatus and is set in ancient Rome. The series focuses on gladiator tournaments and the lives of the characters associated with it. This fantasy drama follows tales of the well-to-do slave owners, slaves, and gladiators. The series depicts repeated drug use, violence, and explicit sex scenes with nudity. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena: The Complete Collection DVD set covers the season in its entirety with six episodes. The two-disc set includes all of the originally aired programming plus bonus features including alternate endings, deleted scenes, and bloopers. The drama is played out over 335 minutes of run time. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena: The Complete Collection DVD is formatted as a box set that is shot in full color to NTSC standards in widescreen playback. The DVD supports an aspect ratio of 1.78:1. Gannicas is a badass!
A must own if your a fan of the good ol days. LOL. Tons of violence and sex what more could you ask ? Jk I was going through severe Game Of Thrones withdrawls and needed to find something that would scratch the itch. Spartacus did the trick. I wish they had cast the actor who plays Gannicas play as Spartacus instead . I loved the original guy they cast but he passed away right after first season. I just could not buy into the replacement guys portrayal of Spartacus. I don't know what it is about him. He just does not fit the role in my eyes. This season is mostly about Gannicas and the others it takes place before Spartacus gets enslaved. So its a prequel basically and a good one at that. Highly suggest it for any fan of Spartacus, Rome, gladiators

Among my very favorite videos.
It was very realistic, especially to the decadent period of the last days of the Roman Empire. Characters were believable and plot was full of intrigue. Have acquired the first three episodes and am looking forward to buying the final chapter of this GREAT series when it comes out on video.

5 STARS ACTION PACKED GREAT SCRIPT
Total action miniseries Great story and characters acting very good Enjoyed watching the action BUT BEWARE lots of blood ,This a miniseries about Gladiators Bad part Spartacus character never appears in the miniseries not even in the final episode Still would recommend this dvd though

Awsome series !!
Cant wait until the next offering of this series. Well acted, great sets an costumes, good believable dialog, great fighting and special effects ! If you like action, this is your series !

Spartacus, Gods of the Arena
The disc we received had a manufacturer's defect; we replaced it. But the story, actors, production, etc is wonderful. A truly original, fascinating gem of entertainment.
