Remarkable Documentary
I'm a collector of PBS documentaries, especially Ken Burns, but I avoided this one for a while, thinking, how engaging is learning about national parks? I ONLY purchased this to basically help complete my Ken Burns collection. Ten minutes into the documentary, I could not believe that I had put this purchase off for as long as I had. The National Parks: America's Best Idea, is so good, I bought a second copy to give away as a gift. The narrating and the trove of information--fascinating information--is as amazing as the breathtaking cinematography. The National Parks is a remarkable documentary that EVERY American needs in their home library.

Beauty & Grandeur in a Box Set!
I gave this incredible box set to my Mom just yesterday as an early Mother’s Day gift. She saw the shortened version on PBS during their pledge drive last month and absolutely fell in love with the beauty and grandeur of places she’s not able to visit in person! And who better to present it than Ken Burns?! Thank you for making this wonderful treat so affordable and helping put a deep smile into my Mom’s heart!

Incredible overview of America's greatest treasures including history that is fun to learn.
This is a totally awesome overview of the National Parks with an incredible amount of history included throughout. In my opinion this should be required viewing in every American classroom. The writer makes history come alive and makes learning about our national treasures, the National Parks, come alive. This is a must have DVD for all American households and would be appreciated oversees as well.

My favorite places and things to do!
Great history, photo and film archives by K Burns. As a child camping with my family I have visited about 1/2 of the locations during the 1960s, many fond memories. (born 1951) We still explore and enjoy these treasures of nature today. Many thanks to Muir and Roosevelt for making this possible.

Vistas beyond belief ...
I will never be able to see all these national parks But with this series I can see them all.... as well as understand the history of how they happened. Ken Burns does an outstanding job of historical pictures and stories.

Beautiful video's of beautiful subjects.... Our National Parks
These videos show areas of the country that we have visited but the beauty is shown to in full color and with viewing angles that are not possible while walking though the National Parks. I highly recommend these videos for the anyone interesting in the lush landscapes and vistas in our National Parks.

Great series from Ken Burns
I purchased this dvd set when planning road travel in the US. It is typical Ken Burns - excellent. I have since purchased four more sets as gifts for family and friends.
