    One of the most inspiring films ever seen

    My first impression of Beasts of the Southern Wild left me mesmerized, inspired, and full of interest. I must have watched it ten times already. The message in the film makes you critically examine your own life, and what really is important!!! Societal standards tell us to attain the best jobs, the best cars, the best schools, and the best homes. You know, the house with the white picket fence, and the two car garage...but after watching Beasts of the Southern Wild, I must say that I have to give the entire production a standing ovation. The cast opened our eyes up to the truest survival of the fittest from a child's perspective. Life on the Louisiana Bayou and the richness of the people living only from natural resources and surviving off the grid is truly outstanding and one to be ...

    A fascinating look at life on the bottom of, and estrangement from, the modern world.

    The main attraction in this movie is a six-year-old little girl who is an amazing actor. The other residents of "The Bathtub", as they call it, are merely supporting her. All live in an area which most people would find unappealing and unattractive (how about disgusting?) but for which those poor and alcohol/drug addicted residents feel love. A fascinating look at life on the bottom of and estrangement from, the modern world.

    Metaphors galore!

    Pay attention or you'll miss the meaning. I recommend watching more than once to catch things you might have missed. I liked the cultural setting and learning something about a region of people many of us know little about.
