Art of War by Sun Tzu
I had watch a program on the Art of War by Sun Tzu on History Channel. Now I was looking for books on Chinese Calligraphy When I came across this book. My daughter's Minor in College was Mandarin Chinese, and she spent a whole school year in Beijing and Singapore learning to speak Chinese. I am an Artist and I find the Chinese Calligraphy beautiful, but a lot harder to do than I thought. This copy of the Art of War by Sun Tzu is almost like a work of art. The hard cover binding is like no other book I own. Inside it has both the English translation on the right hand page and the Chinese on the left hand page. Surprised by the Quality
I was expecting a hard backed book as described, but the quality of this book with the double pages and the quality of the assembly of this book was above and beyond what I was expecting. Very Classy and I am looking forward to reading. This is one of those books you read while under a lamp in your favorite comfortable chair by the fire place with your favorite drink. The Art of War

Authentic, no frills interpretation.
I like the ancient style binding and Chinese fold pages, but be aware the book itself is very basic. If you add in the pages having authentic Chinese writing, opposite the page by page text, there really is not much actual material in the book. I think it's because the writings of Tzu sun were not very extensive to begin with, just short and right to the point. I have other texts books on this subject much more thorough and layered in period details, and most are full of beautiful illustrations. This is not that kind of book, just a basic, honest, straight forward interpretation. There is certainly nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking to delve into a book, it's a short read. Excellent.

One of the best classic book
