It however was not as advertised-the draw band was detached from the main spring. The resulting malfunction would have been very obvious at the time of shipping. I therefore believe-given the care with which the typewriter was packaged- that the draw string came off during shipment. Fortunately I was able to re-attach the draw string and the typewriter works perfectly.
