Representing the point at which American television reached a level of mature artistry, MOONLIGHTING took the medium to new heights of sophistication while maintaining a sense of lighthearted fun. Fusing the drama and comedy genres while offering convoluted plotlines filled with "serious" situations and cultural references, the show delivered laughs according to the tropes of more straightforward sitcoms. The show is focused on uncompromising former model Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd, THE LAST PICTURE SHOW), who loses her fortune to an embezzling accountant; all she has left are a few money-losing businesses retained as tax write-offs. Among these is the Blue Moon Detective Agency, which Maddie plans to sell off until the fast-talking detective David Addison (Bruce Willis, DIE HARD, THE SIXTH SENSE, PULP FICTION) convinces her that the business can turn a profit. The two form a partnership, solving the eccentric cases that are forever turning up at Blue Moon. Meanwhile, the wisecracking, smart, but slovenly David and the beautiful, icy, slightly snobbish Maddie navigate the growing romantic tension between them. In season three, Dave and Sam vie for Maddie's affections, Dave's father gets married, and the whole cast participates in their own version of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW.

Seller had fantastic communication, items exactly as described. As a bonus they were beautifully packaged. The item was dispatched by the seller very soon after purchase. It arrived 1 day later than advertised (Ordered Nov 5 in USA, arrived Dec 10 in Australia), but that was not the fault of the seller- when it arrived in Australia it was sent via Aramex, who I have found don't knock on my door and then deliver to a pick up location nowhere near where I live. Would buy again from this seller!

Exactly as described- packaged perfect - quick shipper - price was considerably lower than other sellers and sites - using them as a bridesmaid gift for my daughters bridesmaids - couldn’t have afforded them at retail so I was blessed to find these - shipping was per item so I ended up paying almost $20 to have the small box shipped to me but I didn’t see another option

Maddie Hayes (Cybele Shepard) is the naive fashion celebrity spoiled by her notoriety. She finds her manager has absconded with all her liquid assets and left her with her obvious assets and a handful of static negative income businesses used as tax write offs including the Blue Moon Detective Agency. She enters the Blue Moon with the intent dissolve the business as the owner they have never seen. Conman, David Addison, Bruce Willis, fast talks Maddie with a scheme that her notoriety as a fashion model will skyrocket the business to success. His dream of desperation is prompted by a desire to continue his fun and frolic office as he manages to talk Maddie into joining the team. The other, David, always alert to hasten the bubbling, if only one-sided, attraction between them. Add the office crew, mostly at rest, yet insanely busy when Maddie appears or there is a party in her absence. See the crew develop a genuine appreciation for each other as they grow into a real detective agency and laugh at the quips and barbs Maddie and David sling while they find ingenious ways to cause laughter and dodge recognition of a budding relationship of partners, friends, or maybe something else.

reality doesn't match memories
My memory of this clever series were better than the reality. I remembered Bruce Willis's astonishing debut on the small screen: witty, full of life, sarcastic, funny. Most of that is still true. But I did not remember how consistently stodgy and argumentative Cybil Shepard was. She never seems to relent, except briefly from time to time which comes as a welcome relief from her onslaught against Bruce's sweet witticisms. And Alice Beasley's rhyming, and interminable, method of answering the phone is a joke that SOON becomes tiresome and boring. Still it was a step forward in sit-come style, and can be enjoyable. Just be prepared for the dated clothing, hairdo's, and Shepard's unrelenting negativity.My memory of this clever series were better than the reality. Moonlighting
I was a little disappointed when I purchased this item. I was expecting it to have the cover for this item. It never stated that it didn't have the outer case. I was excited to add this to my collection for a decent price but now am disappointed that I now don't have the outer case. It was a good value but wish they had fully stated how the item was.
