Story events change based on your actions, making you an active participant in an innovative fantasy game. Widespread destruction has plagued Tyria since the Elder Dragons returned. You must reunite the members of Destiny's Edge, the only guild capable of defeating them. This task will take you across the ravaged land, seeking warriors who can stand against the impossible evil that threatens all."Guild Wars 2" starts by creating a character from the five playable races and selecting one of eight professions, expanding on the five professions from the previous game. The races available in GW2 are human, charri, asura, norn, and the sylvari, a race exclusive to this game. Professions, three of which are new, are divided into armor classes: scholar, adventurer, and warrior. This makes it so that you don't have to keep a healer in your party at all times. Healing troubles are often a thorn in the side of most MMO video game players.The game has a third-person perspective and three-dimensional battle system. Players can turn the tide of battle by using the environment to their advantage when necessary. Very few games offer you the same freedom of weapon arsenal that GW2 provides. You can wield boulders, wooden planks, and even innocent wildlife to defeat your enemies if traditional battles don't appeal to you."Guild Wars 2" has several new features that only add to the gaming experience. The real-time 3D environment, enhanced graphics, and use of the Havok engine improve the combat in GW2. Characters can be equipped with up to 10 skills at a time. The base five skills depend on the character's choice of weapons and their profession. After that, skills are reserved for healing and other undefined roles that unlock as you progress further on in the story.Combat in GW2 is usual for most PC games. In player-versus-environment mode, your level and skills adjust to match that of surrounding monsters. This keeps a balance in the level of difficulty for players around the globe. PVP, however, puts all gamers at an even field and allows them access to their skills and abilities. In addition to this, "Guild Wars 2 "offers another battle mode called "World versus World." In this mode, massive battles takes place independent of the main story. Drop in and out at your leisure to fight others and join the mayhem.Since "Guild Wars 2" is a MMORPG, online co-operative play with others is a key feature in the game. Join your friends online to save the world or explore it for hours on end. This game gives you new environments to uncover and gaming features that provide endless entertainment.

    Trying the next Guild Wars

    I loved the graphics on this game, so much more lively than the first one. The only problem, and in my opinion, the biggest problem was the controls to get your character to interact with the your surroundings. It was (it is) very hard to get your character to move and fight and complete tasks with this new way of giving your avatar commands. Your character is more powerful and more detailed, which is great. But all this is useless if you can't get your avatar to respond quick enough or you have them move wrong because you pressed the wrong key. It would also help if you could get a quick reference guide with the game like they did with the first Guild Wars.

    Showing its age but still a great game.

    Glad to find a sealed, unregistered copy of this old title so my youngest grandson and I can finally play this together. A little dated, but still a great game.

    GW2

    It is Free To Play, however the base game removes all restrictions that Free to Pay model gives you. If you want to unlock your account but not spend 40-50$ for Heart of Thorns this is a good deal. Massive game, active players, something you can spend countless hours on with out running in to a lack of content.

    Decent

    Seems to be copying World of Warcraft to me...But doesn't do a great job....I am a vanilla player of wow so this vs that NOTHING COMPARED TO IT! As i'd play it for hours and hour...But Guild Wars 2 vs. Current WOW......Guild Wars 2 just beats it mainly cause of free gameplay....As I said nothing much great about it but it's a decent game
