The vice does hold tightly and is pretty stable but the front legs do have movement when in the locked position, that could be fixed with a pin drilled in to it other than that it's not too bad of a deal and I would get another if I needed one to beat on. I expected better. My item arrived with all of the little parts scattered about inside the plastic case, but luckily it does not appear there was any damage.
