Reese Witherspoon stars in SWEET HOME ALABAMA, a charming romantic comedy directed by Andy Tennant. Witherspoon is Melanie Carmichael, a Southern girl who leaves her past behind in order to find success as a fashion designer in New York City. On the night of a hugely important show, her charming and romantic boyfriend, Andrew (Patrick Dempsey), proposes to her. It is at that point that Melanie flees for Alabama, hoping to take care of some unfinished business before Andrew and his mother, New York mayor Kate Hennings (Candice Bergan), discover the truth about her. The truth is that Melanie, whose real last name is Smooter, is still married to her childhood sweetheart, Jake (Josh Lucas), who refuses to grant her a divorce. As Melanie reunites with her parents and old friends, she is forced to reevaluate her new-and-improved self. In the process, she rediscovers a love that she thought she had lost. Tennant's film is elevated by Witherspoon's mere presence. Her rare blend of intelligence, wit, and beauty are a wonder to behold. Adding to the charm are Lucas and Dempsey, who portray characters who are hard to root against.

    Top seller, I would recommend! :) I was sent the wrong item, but the seller sorted this out quickly, and sent me the correct item, good communication all the way! :) The new item arrived new in plastic, but had clear marks and hairlines under the plastic on the back of the cover. But the most important thing for me was that the cover was undamaged om the front, as this movie was to become part of my "steelbook wall" - All good, thx again! :)

    my favorite movie

    this movie has been an all time favorite of mine. the characters take on a life of their own as the movie progresses. you feel like you are part of the scene. in life we all have different roles, but no one person is better than another. we are all human. this movie reminds us that we are all equal and love does conquer all.

    Love the South! Southern Hospitality. I was married to a Southern from Arkansas.

    This movie depicts how I feel, because I divorced my Southern man. Sometimes in life, those who mean the most to us have the ability to take their mate for granted. After several years of not being noticed or desired, I divorced my first love. I wish I could have the ending of this movie occur. Years have passed and he will not talk to me. Oh what I'd do, to be who we were, before he took me for granted. I really miss my southern man. As children, the first boy I kissed, over and over. . .
