The top lifts up on a hinge where you can put the nutmeg into for safe storage meaning you can't lose the nutmeg. This can be stored anywhere as being for nutmeg it's actually quite small. Really good quality and I definitely recomend these to anyone who enjoys cooking or baking. I also recomend the seller for a speedy despatch meaning it arrived earlier.
