    What everyone should know about happens when you take away peoples right to defend themselves

    Excellent movie about a true story. The Jews were defenseless against those with guns. Too many died during WW2 because of gun confiscation from Jews. Let it never happen again. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. I am not Jewish, but I see a need for common self defense and never to trust the Gov't

    Another side of the WWII story

    I first saw this film when it came out a few years ago and it piqued my interest in Jewish resistance during WWII. The film is the true story of the Bielski brothers. In other circumstances they might have become criminal outcasts of society, the loss of their parents and home turned them into heroes. Defiance is their story; a story of organizing a village hiding in the forests and many lives saved.

    Excellent

    Movie sad, heartwarming, and highly emotional. It makes you also wonder how people could do these things to others only because of for no other reason that they were born a Jew. A must see, a great movie for families and to add to your movie library, I added this to my movie re. Slaves. Amistad.

    The Very Best of Movies

    This movie has everything you want in it. Most of all - This Movie will capture your soul, for these are true events and true people and depicted to be as realistic as possible for the viewers to never forget these people and what they experienced to survive as Human beings returning to the forest for their only means to survive. Their memory is as important as learning history and the human soul. When to fight and when not to. Love & Hate. Injustice and Retribution. I ask you the viewer of this comment, this isn't just a movie, its educational at the same time to an event that really happened as accurate as the producers could create in their line of work - this should be appreciated for memory. Please watch this movie.

    An awesome and incredible true story

    This is an incredible true story! Probably the best true story movie I own. The opening, showing the slaughtering of innocent people, brought tears to my eyes. The resolve and determination of the people to survive, against all odds, was absolutely riveting. The actors and actresses did an amazing job portraying the people's emotions. Not only was this a crime against a race of people, but a crime against ALL mankind! In the world we live in now, this could happen to any race or religion. We ALL need to make sure a tragedy like this never happens again.
