NotesDigitally remastered edition. Vol. 4 is the fourth studio album by Black Sabbath, released in September 1972. It was the first album by Black Sabbath not produced by Rodger Bain; guitarist Tony Iommi assumed production duties. Patrick Meehan, the band's then-manager, was listed as co-producer, though his actual involvement in the album's production was minimal at best. Rock critic Lester Bangs, who had derided the band's first two albums, applauded Vol. 4, writing in Creem, "We have seen the Stooges take on the night ferociously and go tumbling into the maw, and Alice Cooper is currently exploiting it for all it's worth, turning it into a circus. But there is only one band that has dealt with it honestly on terms meaningful to vast portions of the audience, not only grappling with it in a mythic structure that's both personal and powerful but actually managing to prosper as well. And that band is Black Sabbath."Black Sabbath was formed in Birmingham in 1968 by guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward. Black Sabbath is often cited as pioneers of heavy metal music. The band helped define the genre with a clutch of groundbreaking albums in the ‘70s. They have sold over 70 million records worldwide. Black Sabbath were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

sabbath vol 4
should be considered Sabbaths heavy-est l.p.. the midway point of the first 8 lp,s and the best song they ever did was last song of side one , supernaut. the halfway point. but then again all the songs they did were great. vol 4 is the best most distorted lp they put out. with the coolest cover art of all time ,how many bands have copied it?Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

One of the finest Sabbath albums dead in the peak of the “Original Ozzy era”
Those who know know.. but for those who don’t I’ll sum it for you… when it comes to Black Sabbath (the original with Ozzy Osbourne) the first 6 of 8 albums were pretty much masterpieces, and one could say the first 5 are close to flawless, and “Vol 4” is no exception to that rule. In fact, it’s dead in the peak of the “original Sabbath’s prime” if you will. Sabbath hit a peak.
