With a 600 GB HDD, you can save up to 10,000 hours of music, up to 192,000 high resolution, digital pictures, up to 600 hours of digital quality videos, and up to 300 medium size video games. The fast, 10K RPM spindle speed of the quality IBM HDD has an average latency of 2 milliseconds. A new hard drive improves speed and storage, but for better performance, consider a memory upgrade to the system along with the new IBM drive. When you add more memory to a computer, it can complete more tasks at once. For example, run your print server while playing an online game without experiencing any downtime. The 16 MB buffer cache helps reduce lag between searches by holding data. The cache also uses a small amount of the 16 MB to store the drive’s basic commands. With a 2.5-inch Slim-HS form factor, the IBM HDD with an SAS interface will fit perfectly into any laptop.
