The first of three prequels to George Lucas's 1977 smash hit, 'Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope,' 'Star Wars - Episode I: The Phantom Menace' tells the story of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a young Jedi, and his mentor Qui-Gon Jinn who are assigned to take on the Trade Federation when it blockades the planet Naboo. When their ship gets damaged in the fight, they land on Tattooine and meet Skywalker, a 0-year-old slave in whom Jinn senses the Force. The special edition 2-disc DVD features exclusive content, including deleted scenes, documentaries and featurettes, and storyboard footage that provides an exclusive look at the making of the famed Submarine and Podrace Lap 1 sequences.

    Great bonus features

    I bought this video to complete my collection of Star Wars through episode 6. The thing I loved most about this 2 DVD set were the bonus features that offered a look at different aspects of the movie and also there was a wonderful background feature on the making and developing of this movie. The movie commentary allows you to hear what George Lucas thought about everything as the movie progresses.

    Excellent film and worth the watch

    Love the first movie! This film has my second favorite lightsaber duel in the prequel trilogy.

    The Phantom Menace is my favorite film of the Star Wars prequels! Engaging characters like Qui-Gon Jinn & Obi-Wan Kenobi make the movie so entertaining!

    You Can Never Get Enough Star Wars

    Of all the serial SciFi.. Star Wars is the best.. You really have to start with Episode I and watch the sequels. Using ebay for used DVDs is risky but the "buy-back" options are always a good deal.

    Been so long I had forgotten most of the story . During ALL the scenes with young Ani I kept thinking "he's gonna be Darth Vader!" Noooo ! ! !
