The nuvi 205W screen is wide and offers a clear picture of your route as you make your way to your destination. You can easily view details on the map, as well as driving direction photos. The Garmin nuvi 205W GPS can be read in any light, even in powerful sunshine, so you will always know where you are going. With this model, all you have to do is touch the color screen to enter your destination, and the Garmin nuvi 205W GPS will take you there with accuracy, as it gives you turn-by-turn voice directions and 2D or 3D maps. Garmin nuvi voice prompts you when turns are coming up, and you can check the screen display for accurate update of your surroundings. You can get a bigger picture of the surrounding terrain with nuvi’s digital elevation map feature, which shows shaded contours at higher zoom levels. Make the Garmin nuvi 205W GPS your own by adding a custom POI (point of interest). You can even get alerts for upcoming POIs, such as school zones and safety cameras. The internal memory software of the Garmin nuvi 205W can store up to 1,000 locations, favorites, and waypoints. This GPS unit keeps you moving even when there is traffic with a Route Avoidance feature that can be used to avoid highways and tolls, while also helping you avoid speeding tickets, as it guides you through areas with speed limit changes on major roads (feature available in the United States and Europe). The Garmin nuvi 205W GPS is your portable, personal travel assistant for when you are on the go. This device is lightweight so it travels easily, despite being fully-featured. The design of the Garmin nuvi 205W GPS, like the rest of the Garmin GPS line, is sleek and slim, so it fits quite comfortably in a pocket or bag for easy portability. The Garmin nuvi 205W GPS works by attaching to your car power, but for times when you have no access to power (if your car battery dies, etc.), the internal battery can last up to 4 hours, so you can still get directions.     These are some of the most beautiful beads I've seen. Even brighter once the dust is rinsed off. They were packaged with great care & tightly wrapped in multiple bags so they did not rattle in transit and chip or break. Then bubble wrapped, then boxed. Ace job!     Garmin GPS - Oldie but Goodie!

    The unit is reliable, the battery charges easily and remains charged. Although the maps are a little outdated, it has served us well on a recent 2000 mile road trip.

    New Product without box

    I received this unit as advertised new without a box. It looked brand new and all the perrifials were there. However the unit did not work and the battery would not charge up. I gambled that it was only a defective battery so I bought a new battery and installed it following instructions on U-tube. The new battery charged up without a problem and the unit now performs excellently. I'm just disappointed that this unit was not tested before it was sold to me as new without a box and that I ended up with the added expense of having to buy a battery. Lucky for me I'm talented enough to have been able to install the battery myself.

    Outdated

    This model is too outdated for my taste. It takes awhile to find the signal. It is not easy to type on this device. Also the directions are very general and not specific at all. For example it just says "turn left, then turn right." I had a Garmin a few years back that had the 3D display as well as specific street names and highways. Skip this one.

    works well; got confused when I tried to use it off-road.

    Works well on the road; doesn't seem to work when you set the mode to off-road for a hike in the woods, keeps spinning the map and confusing me.

    Perfect for our trip to Europe!

    Looking forward to our stress-free vacation in England now that we have our garmin that came loaded with UK maps. Great price and much cheaper than renting or burning through an expensive International data plan.
