    I bought this kit to repair a stripped out spark plug thread on a STIHL chain saw, I found it necessary to very carefully drill out the old spark plug hole , by hand ,not using electric tools , to enable the supplied tap to cut in a new thread , I used heavy grease on the drill bit and also the tap , removing and cleaning away the metal cuttings numerous times, the chain saw being positioned with the plug hole at the bottom, it did work for me use high temperature thread lock on the new insert

    took me a while to find how to install this via videos. So make it simple for those who are looking at it. Tap the hole if threads are stripped 1/2 turn in quarter out. If its being drill id probs go a 10mm and then tap it same way. Apply the plug to the coil. and insert the coil after you have cleaned it off. Use some high temp locktite locktite 270 i went with as its 270c temp wise then literally screw it in tighten it down not overly tight nip it. and leave it for 12/24 hours so it sets. done

    Spark Plug Thread Repair - Considering the price for the repair kit, it's a good stuff. Tapper is not the first class for sure, but does the job anyway. Repair bush must be degreased properly and secured with high temperature resistant thread locker (minimum 300 Deg. C). Once done and fully cured repair works flawlessly.

    A cheap and versatile rethreading tool.

    I blew a spark plug out of my Insignia. ordered this kit and rethreaded the spark plug hole useing the rethtrreading tool supplied and inserted the correct size helecoil supplied Replaced all the spark plugs and replaced the coil pack that the spark plug smashed as it came out of the head. Total cost £140.00. The alternative without this kit would have cost me over £1000. That is why I gave it 5 stars. Anybody not familier and thinking about attempting this job, make absolutly sure you have the tap dead straight when you are cutting the new thred and take you time all the way through the fix.

    Works well if you know what you are doing!

    This tool really does work, but, you need to align it very carefully, it needs lots of pressure on the end of the ratchet to make it cut and keep cutting, then it does a very good job. It would be easy to damage the cylinder head if you get it wrong! The addition of an intermediate taper tap would have made it a great product!

    10mm spark plug repair kit

    Could not find a kit like this anywhere in the U.S. needed it to fix my yamaha breeze 125 atv. The original spark plug hole is very close to the valves the low profile of these sleeves and the various lengths made it the perfect repair. I hooked up compressed air to the muffler and turned the motor over so the exhaust valve was open and the compressed air blew all the shavings from the tap right out. Put some sleave sealer on the insert and threaded it in good as new! Completely recommend for motorcycle and atv repairs.

    This cutter although difficult to use, worked and saved a big bill

    The tread cutter has no gradual phase in before the threads are cut,I luckily bought a pre cut before hand otherwise the cutter would be difficult to keep straight and to put enough pressure to start cutting. Even with the pre cutter it was difficult enough. Having said all that the cutter worked and successfully cutting a tread in my chainsaw spark plug hole and with one of the four inserts given, prevented a large bill or a new chainsaw! I also used a 'high temp' thread sealer to make sure the insert didn't move.
