The accessories for the HP Deskjet 1010 Standard Inkjet are certified by ENERGY STAR, which means that every time you use the device, it is preventing greenhouse gas emissions and meeting the efficiency guidelines set by the U.S Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It has an input voltage of 120V AC and 230 V AC, so it's very power-savvy. It connects to your computer via the USB 2.0 cable. It only takes 10 watts of power to run this accessory, and it has a 1,000-page per month capacity. There's an off-mode power consumption of just 200mW and a Sleep-Mode power consumption of just 800.With this type of HP Deskjet 1010 Standard Inkjet Printer model, you can print on all kinds of media, including brochures, photos, labels, envelopes, and greeting cards. Combining high-quality ink with this printer's technology will result in darker blacks and vibrant colors. The output tray has a capacity of up to 25 sheets. It can print on many different types of paper such as photo paper and 8.5-inch by 11-inch letter size, 8.5-inch by 14-inch legal size, and postcards. It can also print No. 10 envelopes in the 10-4.13 by 9.49-inch size as well as DL envelopes that measure 4.33 by 8.66 inches. The print capacity of the ink cartridges for this HP Deskjet Ink Printer are approximately 190 pages with an HP 61 black ink cartridge and about 165 pages with an HP 61 tri-color ink cartridge. It is 17-second monochrome ready and 24-second color ready, which means less wait time during print jobs.This printer is compatible with PC and Mac computers. It can operate with PCs running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. It also works with Apple Mac computers running the OS X 10.6, Lion, or Mountain Lion operating systems. Your Windows or Mac software should be able to detect the printer and install the necessary drivers. You can also manually install the driver if the software doesn't automatically locate the Deskjet 1010, and driver updates are available for download on a regular basis.     It's working for now

    Sigh. I wanted to replace my 12-year-old HP Deskjet 1010; the USB socket on the back had stopped working. But just like every HP product I've bought, there's something wrong with it. The 12-year-old printer came set up for Asia, and US ink wouldn't work. This one, the black ink cartridge doesn't go in smoothly, and it took some fussing to get the printer to use it. I'm hoping that when I need a new black cartridge, I'll be able to get it to work again. If not, I'll at least have been able to finish doing our taxes with this cartridge. I do like the Deskjet 1010.

    Welcome to 2015

    I bought my last HP printer in 1999. When it died, I looked for a similar small version of the same type of printer and found the 1010. The installation took a little while, because the CD alone didn't work. However after HP's website figured out the problem, I was back in business. Printer is light, faster than my '99, and works just fine for what I need. Considering what I paid, this was a great deal.
