The original surrounds were glued to the back of the cone; seller recommends gluing to the front for easy assembly. That is true, but the fit was not very good as the short axis opening of the 6x9 surround was about 1/2" smaller that the short axis of the cone. I got it glued, but, it took some effort. I glued the 2nd surround to the back. Hard, but works. Glue is great.
